Hot Stamping

Every letter is painstakingly placed in a typeholder and attention is given to just the right heat, pressure and dwell time. The entire stamping site is masked off for protection. In the style of old world craftsmen, a good eye and a steady hand are necessary here. Foil stamping is done in gold, silver, bronze and color foils or blindstamping. The letters are pressed into the bookcloth cover or into the genuine leather cover of every book we restore or create. We have several different fonts, sizes and many dies in house. Some are chain borders which are applied by hand with a rolling tool or floral accents. Some are gold bars and many are intricately detailed like bride and groom, wedding bells, horsedrawn carriage, teddy bear, inkwell with pen and lots more.
